Who We Are
Who We Are
The Kirishoi Foundation is a non-profit organization established in Meru, Arusha, with a singular mission: to foster a healthy, equitable, and sustainable community. We are a team of passionate individuals—volunteers, community leaders, and dedicated staff—working tirelessly to address the root causes of poverty and inequality.
Our work is guided by the principles of integrity, transparency, and deep respect for the communities we serve. We strive to create self-sufficient and resilient communities that can flourish long into the future.
Our Founding Story: A Promise to Meru
The idea for the Kirishoi Foundation blossomed from a deeply personal experience, grew up in Meru, witnessing firsthand the immense potential within the community, often shadowed by persistent challenges: girls dropping out of school, women struggling to feed their families, and the degradation of vital natural resources. This led to a promise: to build an organization that wouldn’t just offer temporary aid, but create lasting pathways to self-reliance. The goal was clear—to empower individuals with the tools they needed to transform their own lives, uplift their families, and become stewards of their environment. This vision ignited the journey to establish Kirishoi, turning a personal commitment into a beacon of hope for an entire community.
